چکیده

The aerodynamic drag of a trailing cyclists in tandem formation is investigated at different lateral and longitudinal separations. A Ring Fire (RoF) experiment conducted the Tom Dumoulin bike park Sittard-Geleen Netherlands. method based on stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry (Stereo-PIV) measurements followed by invoking conservation momentum expressed control volume to evaluate force cyclists. Three perform series individual tests as well four drafting tests, varying their order group. All were performed nominal riding speed 45 km/h; displacement drafters varied between 0.32 m 0.85 ±0.20 among runs. results from RoF show flow field interactions two wake second cyclist. It observed that amount reduction for rider mainly caused change inflow conditions. reductions cyclist are range 27% 66% depending separation leading rider. advantage decreases with increasing riders, found be more relevant. Furthermore, analysis wakes, RoF, measured Barry et al. (2014), model introduced predicts gain his or her position respect Validation data literature shows near prediction line literature, an overestimation when distance 0.1 0.3 m.

Numerical study on the aerodynamic drag of drafting cyclist groups

This paper presents a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) investigation of the aerodynamic effects of drafting in cycling. In drafting, cyclists ride close behind each other to reduce aerodynamic drag. The CFD simulations for single cyclists and for a group of two cyclists are successfully compared with wind-tunnel measurements. Both CFD simulations and wind tunnel measurements show that also th...

content analysis of l1 and l2 writing textbooks and the perception analysis of university professors on the influence of english writing expertise on the persian in an efl context

the importance of writing as a complex skill in applied linguistics has drawn the attention of many researchers to evaluate textbooks in order to help learners gain self-sufficiency and autonomy in the field of language use and communication. investigations have shown that developments in textbooks evaluation can promote the quality of pedagogies and consequently the learning. this study attemp...

the effect analysis of proficiency on language - switching in iranian efl learners writing

abstract in a protocol analysis of second language writing from 20 adult english as a foreign language (efl) iranian students, this research observed how language-switching (l-s), i.e., first language use in l2 writing, was affected by l2 proficiency. switching interactively between first (l1) and second (l2) languages has been recognized as one of the salient characteristics of l2 writing....
